Off highway diesel engines with a power output of less than 560 kW

With a conventional fuel-injection system you get:

One system comprised of nozzle holder assemblies and mechanically/electronically controlled inline pumps or distributor pumps*
A particularly robust fuel-injection system which is often used in a range of off-highway applications.
The injected fuel quantity can be evenly and quickly varied.

*As inline pumps and distributor pumps are placed on a straight line of piping as the flow of fluids does not change direction. The “pipe string” is therefore straight and you will save a lot of space.

With a common-rail system you get:

A very precise and direct injection of fuel
Reduced emissions, noise, and low vibrations.
A fuel-injection system suitable for use in a wide range of applications, as it is designed to work with pressures between 1 400 and 2 700 bar.

NB! Same product in aftermarket as in OEM series when you buy components for conventional and common-rail systems. You are therefore ensured high quality and longer maintenance intervals whichever system you use.

Large diesel engines with a power output of more than 560 kW

With a conventional fuel-injection system you get:

A Bosch PF single injection pump with a nozzle holder assembly for each engine cylinder
A fuel injections system that is robust and has high durability.
A pump that can be operated with a large selection of fuel types.

With a modular common-rail system (MCRS) you get:

Reduced fuel consumption with 8 % and a reduced running noise.
A system designed for pressures between 1 600 and 2 200 bar and engines with up to 20 cylinders.
An injection pressure independent of engine speed.

NB! Both systems fulfill the OEM specifications. You can use the Bosch Large Engine components with heavy fuel oil (HFO) with full power output capacity.

Bosch common rail vs single-injection pumps

The common-rail injection system is the newest diesel technology in relation to diesel engines, which makes it natural to think of it as the best fuel injection system. It contains a single high pressure fuel pump that puts the fuel under pressure, which makes it possible to always maintain the same pressure within the injection-system. The cr-injectors are controlled by a magnetic valve in each cylinder which makes it possible to get a precise fuel injection – which is why it is possible to reduce fuel consumption.

The benefits of common-rail are only possible because the system can separate the two features; pressure and injection, which can be done simultaneously in the cr-injection system. In conventional fuel-injection systems the pressure is generated with each injection, and it is therefore not possible to reach the same highly efficient fuel-injection as with a common rail system. The conventional fuel-injection system is, as many are aware, an older system which is commonly found in older machines and vehicles.

There is a difference between working on (and repairing) a diesel engine with old diesel technology and new diesel technology. There are still many older machines and vehicles in farming, construction, mining and maritime, which makes it vital that there is an opportunity to get quality components for these conventional fuel-injection systems. Even though you have an older diesel engine, you can benefit from components with a long lifespan, which is what you will find in our selection of Bosch off-highway products.

Starters and industrial spark plugs

We can supply you with two types of HEF/HEP 109 starters from Bosch, single-starters, and parallel-starters. With a HEF/HEP 109 starter you are sure to have a machine/vehicle that will start in all weather conditions. The modular design makes it possible to choose a starter with the exact featured that you need. Bosch HEF/HEP 109 starters have an integrated mechanical relay (IMR) and are easy to install and connect to the electrical system and ECU.

HEF 109 single-starters:

Used in diesel engines with a displacement of up to 30 liters and cold start requirements.
Robust, compact, and modular design
Designed for op to 14 000 hours of operation.

HEP 109 parallelstarters:

Consists of 2-3 synchronized HEP 109 starters which increases the scope of application.
Suitable for diesel engines with up to 90 liters and gasoline engines with up to 180 liters of displacement.

Our selection of industrial spark plugs from Bosch are used in stationary fuel engines – which includes gasoline generators and diesel generators. Bosch iridium spark plugs are of high quality, reliable and works with almost all kinds of engines – also the older types. Bosch spark plugs are made with iridium-electrodes that are replaceable. Replace the electrodes with the re-gapping tool from Bosch for a correct replacement. By doing so you prolong the lifespan of the spark plug, reduce downtime, and it gives you low replacement costs.
